In the 1950s there was a joke about communists: “What mine is mine, and what yours is negotiable!” Chuck Schumer came pretty close to that last week. He mimicked business owners: “I don’t want to pay taxes! I built my company with my bare hands How dare your government tell me how I should treat my customers? The land and the water that I own, or my employees?!” Meanwhile, Schumer has the net worth of $81 million! (Did that come his salary?)
I think people hate the government due to career politicians like Schumer who believe they have the right to control the People through excessive taxation. Schumer and others constantly push for tax increases, and they genuinely believe that people are stealing if they don’t give everything to the government.
