I was working on my taxes and I wondered, what are the lowest tax states in America and what are the highest tax states? I just went to Yahoo Finance and learned that Oregon has the highest tax rate of any state. The lowest, Florida, and Nevada. There's no income tax that you pay as tax. Total tax divided by income. Oregon, believe it or not, is 24.4% of the taxpayers' income. Massachusetts, 23.5%. No wonder people are moving to Florida or to Nevada. My home state of Virginia is number seven on the high tax rates. And our Islamist governor, Spanberger, says she's going to raise those taxes even more.
