I received a priority call about 10:00 PM Saturday night. It seems that with the recent storms and power outages, the main HVAC unit at a local church was not working. My friend was understandably concerned and he knew I was familiar with their system.
We started looking at possible causes. It was rather toasty with the inside temp being close to 80 F and no air movement. We checked various parts of the system and, in the process, cycled power to the air handler. We realized that the reset was effective in bringing the system back up and we started testing it.
The event was wholly enjoyable but time consuming. As we waited for different parts of the system to activate, we told stories and compared life experiences. Casey and I were both hot with sweat dripping into our eyes as we felt the cool air start to circulate. It was then that I chuckled under my breath at the realization that, due to the heat, Like most sinners, I was sweating profusely … in church.
